Abduction hoax mom won’t be released as scheduled

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — A white Pennsylvania woman who falsely claimed she and her 9-year-old daughter were abducted by two black men, only to be found later at Disney World, isn’t being released as scheduled.

Thirty-eight-year-old Bonnie Sweeten will remain in Bucks County Prison a little longer because of “inappropriate behavior.” Prison officials declined to elaborate.

Sweeten had been scheduled to finish her sentence on house arrest starting on Saturday.

Sweeten’s attorney, Louis Busico, said Wednesday he doesn’t plan to challenge the decision.

Sweeten was sentenced to nine to 23 months in prison in August after pleading guilty to identity theft and filing a false police report.

She used a stolen ID to buy the plane ticket and check into an Orlando hotel.
