Mass. congressman to discuss Ala. shooting suspect

BOSTON — A Massachusetts congressman is scheduled to detail his recollections of the investigation into the 1986 death of the brother of Amy Bishop.

Bishop is the Alabama university professor accused of fatally shooting three colleagues earlier this month.

A spokesman for William Delahunt says the Massachusetts Democrat speak to the media about the case on Monday.

Delahunt was district attorney when the then 21-year-old Bishop shot her younger brother to death in their Braintree, Mass., home. The shooting was ruled an accident and Bishop was never charged.

The Harvard-educated neurobiologist is facing capital murder and other charges for allegedly killing three colleagues and injuring three others in the biology department at the University of Alabama-Hunstville on Feb. 11.

Delahunt has been in the Middle East since the shooting in Alabama and has said he has limited memory of the case.
