Dolphin CB Allen released on bail after DUI arrest

MIAMI — Miami Dolphins cornerback Will Allen has been released on bail after being arrested for drunk driving in Miami Beach.

A Miami-Dade County Corrections spokeswoman says Allen was released on $1,000 bail Saturday.

Miami Beach police took the nine-year NFL veteran into custody Saturday after he approached a roadway blocked by police. An officer said Allen smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes.

Allen declined to comment when contacted Sunday by The Associated Press.

The cornerback just finished his fourth year with Miami, but missed the last 10 games after undergoing knee surgery. Allen spent his first five years in the NFL with the New York Giants.
