Ohio man denies charges that he shot at 5 vehicles

CLEVELAND — A man accused of shooting at five vehicles in Cleveland-area neighborhoods has pleaded not guilty to 36 counts, including several felonious assault and weapons charges.

Police say 65-year-old Paul Hausmann randomly shot at moving cars from his vehicle in Berea and Strongsville, his hometown, between mid-August and mid-December. No one was hurt.

He entered his pleas Friday, after previously pleading not guilty to felonious assault and carrying concealed weapons charges. A $1 million bond was continued, and he remains in jail.

Hausmann was indicted on the additional charges Tuesday in Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County.

Attorney David Rowthorn declined to comment Friday.
