Report: Rio Tinto employees to stand trial
BEIJING — A Chinese state news agency says four Rio Tinto employees are to stand trial on charges of stealing commercial secrets.
The Xinhua News Agency’s report Wednesday says the four employees, who include an Australian national, also are charged with accepting bribes.
The report says the case was accepted by a Shanghai court but gave no date for a trial.
The Rio employees were detained in July amid iron ore price talks with China’s steel industry association. State media say they are suspected of obtaining inside information that helped Rio in the price talks.
