Brennan: Stop criticizing anti-terror efforts

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s top counterterrorism adviser says he’s tired of lawmakers and others criticizing the administration’s actions concerning the Christmas airliner plot.

John Brennan says some in Washington are using national security as “political football” for partisan purposes. He says they’re trying to micromanage the case with a “500-mile screwdriver” that stretches from the Capitol to the scene of the attack in Detroit.

Brennan says the FBI and other counterterrorism officials acted appropriately in the arrest and questioning of the suspected bomber.

Brennan spoke on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
