NY suspect pleads guilty to anti-Jewish hate crime

NEW YORK — A man has pleaded guilty to charges he spray-painted swastikas and spread fliers reading “Kill All Jews” around his Brooklyn neighborhood.

Brooklyn prosecutors said Thursday that Ivaylo Ivanov also pleaded guilty to possessing a secret cache of weapons discovered at his home in 2008 after he shot himself in the hand. Police found explosives, a semiautomatic handgun and ammunition.

Authorities said Ivanov spray-painted the swastikas and spread the fliers in 2007 in at least 23 locations in Brooklyn Heights, including two synagogues.

He pleaded guilty to weapons possession and criminal mischief as a hate crime. He faces 18 years in prison at sentencing on Feb. 25.
