Feds go after counterfeiters at Super Bowl
MIAMI — Counterfeit merchandise is a problem all year round for the NFL and it always gets worse at Super Bowl time.
Later Thursday morning, the leader of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement team will talk about the government’s efforts to crack down on illegal peddlers in Miami this week.
Among the agents is former NFL receiver Randal Hill. He says agents are hitting stores, street vendors and mall kiosks looking for illegal hats, T-shirts, jerseys and more.
Before his law enforcement career, Hill was a receiver on the Miami Hurricanes’ 1989 national championship team then made NFL stops with the Saints, Dolphins and Cardinals.
