Autopsy: Michigan imam suffered 21 gunshot wounds

DEARBORN, Mich. — An autopsy report shows that a Muslim prayer leader suffered 21 gunshot wounds during an FBI raid at a warehouse in a Detroit suburb where agents were attempting to arrest him.

The report released Monday by the Wayne County medical examiner’s office indicates that Luqman Ameen Abdullah was shot once in the back.

Earlier Monday, Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad (huh-DAD’) said it would take several more weeks for his department to complete its investigation into the Oct. 28 shooting.

Abdullah was described as a leader of a national radical Sunni group that wants to create an Islamic state within the U.S. His family has denied allegations that he was anti-government.
