Pa. feds target Florida urine test-beating firm

PITTSBURGH — A Florida man has agreed to plead guilty to selling a powdered drink mix he says was 100 percent effective in helping truck drivers, pilots, train engineers and others pass federally mandated urine tests to detect drugs.

Federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh say Stephen Sharp’s Internet business based in Port Orange, Fla., sold the “Your In the Clear” product in western Pennsylvania and elsewhere from November 2006 through May 2008. The product was advertised as a way to meet drug safety standards adopted by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Acting U.S. Attorney Robert Cessar says Sharp is scheduled to plead guilty March 4 in Pittsburgh.

Sharp’s attorney confirmed that and says the product is no longer being sold.
