Prosecutor: More charges coming in NY terror cases
NEW YORK — There may be new charges brought against two men whose friend is accused of plotting to bomb New York City.
Prosecutors allege Adis Medunjanin (AH’-dees meh-DOON’-yah-neen) conspired to kill U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. They told a Brooklyn judge on Tuesday they expect further charges, and that his case might be combined with that of alleged al-Qaida associate Najibullah Zazi (nah-jee-BOO’-lah ZAH’-zee).
Prosecutors say another suspect arrested in the investigation, Zarein Ahmedzay (ZAH’-rayn AH’-mihd-zay), might face more charges as well.
Zazi is a Colorado airport driver who is charged with plotting to attack New York City with homemade bombs.
All three men attended Flushing High School in Queens. They say they’ve done nothing wrong.
