Ex-Continental worker gets prison over ticket scam
HOUSTON — A former Continental Airlines corporate security worker has pleaded guilty to fraud in an electronic ticket scam.
Prosecutors in Houston say 42-year-old Rebecca Anne Dewvall of Channelview must serve 12 months in federal prison and repay more than $109,000.
Dewvall was sentenced Wednesday over her September guilty plea to wire fraud in a scheme linked to Continental’s electronic travel certificate program to compensate passengers.
Prosecutors say Dewvall, between March 2007 and May 2009, accessed Continental’s computer system for bogus transactions that eventually led to her getting paid ticket refunds.
Dewvall is free on bond until a prison where she will serve her time is designated.
