Bond set for man who allegedly threatened Jews

MIAMI — Bond has been set at $210,000 for a man who allegedly yelled “I want to kill all the Jews” on a Detroit-bound plane at Miami International Airport.

If 43-year-old Mansor Mohammad Asad, of Toledo, Ohio, posts the bond, his attorney Frank J. Gaviria says Asad would be required to be under house arrest.

Police say Asad was arrested Wednesday night on a disorderly conduct charge after a taxiing Northwest Airlines flight returned to a gate. Authorities say the incident doesn’t appear terrorism-related.

Gaviria says he plans to ask the trial judge for a bond reduction. He says that Asad is not a flight risk and that the amount is excessive. The attorney says the incident was a misunderstanding.
