Fire traps 27 workers in China coal mine

CHANGSHA - Twenty-seven miners remained trapped inside a coal mine in central China after a fire broke out in the facility, an official said Tuesday.

The accident took place at 2 p.m. in Lisheng coalmine in Tanjiashan town in Hunan province, Xinhua reported. Officials have meanwhile launched a search for the trapped miners.
