Man who pleaded guilty in 4th of July quadruple homicide in Milwaukee gets 20 years in prison

Man convicted of killing 4 in Wis. gets 20 years

MILWAUKEE — A man who pleaded guilty in the killings of four people in Milwaukee on Fourth of July in 2008 has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Twenty-five-year-old Rosario Fuentez was sentenced Wednesday on four counts of being party to the crime of first-degree reckless homicide. He received 20 years for each charge, with the sentences to be served concurrently.

Fuentez was helping two other shooters retaliate against gang members who had beaten one shooter and stolen his watch. Four people were killed and two injured.

Fuentez apologized in court, saying his conscience will not let him get over what happened.

He could have faced life in prison, but the judge credited him for confessing and providing testimony that helped convict one of the shooters.
