Authorities ask people for help in catching gunman
CROWN POINT, Ind. — Authorities are asking for help locating a disheveled gunman who fatally shot a man and wounded two others in rural areas of Illinois and Indiana.
The shootings appear to be random, but investigators have said each followed a pattern: The attacker approached people to ask quizzical questions about honeybees, then pulled out a gun.
Sheriff Roy Dominguez of Lake County, Ind., southeast of Chicago, says someone knows who the gunman is, and authorities need help catching him before he strikes again.
The gunman killed a 45-year-old man near Beecher, Ill. He also wounded a 19-year-old man in the same area and shot a 64-year-old farmer near Lowell, Ind.
