Daughter expected to testify in NJ incest trial
PATERSON, N.J. — The daughter of a New Jersey man accused of raping five of his daughters and impregnating three is scheduled to testify in her father’s trial Wednesday.
The man’s former wife already testified that he held apocalyptic visions and wanted to create “pure” family bloodlines. She has also said he enforced his will with beatings and other punishment.
The Associated Press generally doesn’t identify victims of sexual crimes and is not reporting the names of the husband and wife to protect the identities of their children, who are now over 18.
The man, who was arrested in 2006 and ruled competent to stand trial earlier this year, faces 27 charges including sexual assault, lewdness, child endangerment and criminal sexual contact.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
