2 men arrested in Romania over child pornography
BUCHAREST, Romania — Authorities say two Romanian men have been arrested for allegedly taking pornographic photos of children and putting them online.
Organized crime prosecutor Mircea Andres says a third Romanian man has been detained in the western city of Timisoara. A court will decide Wednesday whether he will also be arrested for 29 days, pending trial.
Authorities say the suspects took photos of minors from dysfunctional families and put the images on pornographic websites where people from the U.S, Switzerland, Great Britain and other countries paid fees to see them.
Prosecutors say one of the suspects was also involved in trafficking minors for sex.
Authorities say the suspects cashed in about $300,000 (€218,000).
