BALTIMORE — A white supremacist who goes by the nickname “Hitler” has pleaded guilty in the unprovoked beating of a black fisherman in a Baltimore park.
A spokesman for the Baltimore state’s attorney’s office says 29-year-old Calvin Lockner pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges including armed carjacking and first-degree assault. He agreed to a 31-year prison term.
Prosecutors say Lockner and two teenagers beat 77-year-old James Privott (pruh-VAHT’) and stole his car in August 2009 while the victim was fishing. Privott lost two teeth in the attack.
Lockner told police the beating wouldn’t have happened if the victim had been white.
Lockner belongs to white supremacist groups and has a tattoo of Adolf Hitler on his midsection.
