New domestic assault charges for former Mizzou RB
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Former Missouri running back Derrick Washington is facing new charges of domestic assault after an ex-girlfriend complained he hit her in the face several times.
Boone County court records show the 21-year-old senior was charged Tuesday with two misdemeanor counts of third-degree domestic assault after a weekend argument led to his arrest early Sunday.
Washington’s lawyer did not immediately return a call Wednesday.
The former team captain is already facing a felony deviate sexual assault charge tied to an incident over the summer. He was initially suspended but then kicked off the football team Sept. 1. Missouri is allowing him to keep his scholarship if he stays in school.
