Maryland school locked down after shots fired
BETHESDA, Md. — A suburban Washington, D.C., high school is on lockdown and Interstate 270 ramps are closed after police say a man fired a shot at his girlfriend.
Police say the man reportedly fired a shot at his ex-girlfriend about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday in Bethesda, Md. The woman was not injured. All exterior doors at Walter Johnson High School have been locked as a precaution.
County police say a man armed with a high-powered rifle fled in a 2004 black Chevy Tahoe with Maryland license plates.
Police are asking people to stay away from the area. They say no one should approach the suspect and should instead call 911.
