Slovakia Shooting Claims Six Lives, Many Injured

BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The capital city of Slovakia Bratislava was witness to a bloody shooting incident today in which a gunman fired indiscriminately in a busy street which injured 20 people while claiming as many as six lives. The state news agency has reported that the gunman is supposedly among those who have been killed although it has not been confirmed as yet.

While revealing details of the incident, Dominika Sulkova, a spokesperson of the emergency services told the media that the shooting took place around 10 a.m on Monday morning in which at least six people, which includes two women and four men, were killed. However, the police authorities in the capital city of Slovakia have refused to divulge any details of the shooting incident while a thorough investigation has been undertaken to know the circumstances that led to shooting spree. According to reports, the shooting was carried out by a 15-year-old drug addict who took his own life after he open fired in the busy street of Bratislava. Eyewitnesses have said that the incident took place near a kindergarten and a supermarket while pointing out that as many as nine people could have been killed in the shooting spree.

However, information about the shooter who carried out the crime still continues to remain sketchy and at the same time, the motive behind the attack is also unknown. The Bratislava police authorities rushed to the spot soon after the shooting in the Slovakia capital and cordoned off the area. Jana Baloghova, a police spokesperson told reporters that the police chief and interior minister would be addressing the media later to shed light into the shooting incident.
