Will nannies testify at Anna Nicole Smith trial?
LOS ANGELES — With the Anna Nicole Smith drug conspiracy trial resuming Monday a question remains over whether the nannies testify.
Superior Court Judge Robert Perry chided the prosecutor last week for being evasive about whether the two women who worked for Smith in the Bahamas will make their first courtroom appearance to relate what they saw and heard in the final weeks of Smith’s life.
Their testimony is considered crucial and the judge has said portions of it are inflammatory. He excised some of a transcript presented by an investigator who talked to them before the preliminary hearing.
Howard K. Stern, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich have pleaded not guilty to providing Smith with excessive opiates and sedatives, prescribing under false names and prescribing to an addict.
