Police: 3 arrested in deadly Ind. party shooting
INDIANAPOLIS — Police say three people have been arrested on charges related to a shooting at an Indianapolis birthday party that killed two people and injured six others.
A police spokesman says a 30-year-old, a 27-year-old and a 21-year-old are jailed on a 72-hour hold while awaiting formal charges.
The two older men are being held on preliminary charges of conspiracy to commit murder. The youngest is being held on a preliminary charge of attempted murder and aggravated battery.
Police didn’t immediately say which of the men are accused of firing shots.
The shootings occurred at an Aug. 3 birthday gathering on the city’s near west side. A masked man armed with an assault-style rifle opened fire, killing the woman hosting the party and a man who had just arrived.
