Brother: Slain Md. woman wasn’t involved in drugs
SILVER SPRING, Md. — The brother of a woman whose body was found in what police described as a trash-filled apartment last week in Prince George’s County says his sister never sold or used drugs.
Mwasiti Sikyala was found dead in the apartment last week with her niece and nephew and the children’s mother. Police have said the killings were drug-related. A Texas man and woman have been charged in the slayings.
But Kaituta Sikyala told The Washington Post that his sister was working to pack up and sell items the family had stored in their late father’s home. He describes her as a hardworking woman hoping to make enough money to send her own daughters to college.
The other people killed were Dawn Yvette Brooks and her children, Shayla Shante Sikyala and Shakur Sylvester Sikyala.
