Conn. warehouse reopening 8 days after killings
MANCHESTER, Conn. — A Connecticut beer distributor where nine people died in a shooting rampage last week is reopening.
Hartford Distributors Inc. President Ross Hollander says employees will return to work at the company’s offices and warehouse in Manchester on Wednesday morning. A moment of silence and remembrance is set for 7 a.m. in the facility’s parking lot.
The reopening comes eight days after police say company driver Omar Thornton shot eight people to death, wounded two others and killed himself. It all happened after he was shown video evidence of him stealing beer and was asked to resign.
Thornton’s family held a private memorial service for him Tuesday at a Hartford funeral home.
