Charles Sobhraj Case Verdict Comes Today

KATHMANDU, NEPAL (GaeaTimes.com)- Nepal Supreme Court shall announce it’s verdict on “Bikini Killer” Charles Sobhraj’s case today. Reportedly, Charles Sobhraj is accused of a series of backpacker murders in Asia back in 1970. Charles Sobhraj who is now 65 years old was convicted six years ago for killing a tourist named Connie Joe Bronzich. Charles Sobhraj a native of Vietnam but with a French nationality, has been accused of a total of 12 tourist killings in Asia in the year of 1970s.
Sri Kanta Poudel who happens to be the spokesperson for the Nepal Supreme Court was the first one to have informed the media about the final date for Charles Sobhraj case verdict. Kathmandu district court had originally sentenced Charles Sobhraj for a long term prison sentence way back in the year of 2004. Following that another district court had upheld the prison sentence. It’s amazing how the 65 year old linguist has managed to prove himself innocent as he kept saying that he never visited Nepal before 2003. Charles Sobhraj was first taken into police custody from a casino in the very same year.
Handwriting analysts testified that Charles Sobhraj’s signature has been found on the registration cards of the hotel where he stayed. However, his lawyers said that the original evidences were never produced in the court but only photocopies. Ram Bandu Sharma told the media that his client Charles Sobhraj is innocent and he is hopeful that the court shall take the right decision for the case. He also informed that Charles Sobhraj has been notified of the legal proceedings but he might not turn up at the court.
