LA grand jury indicts celebrity burglary suspects

LOS ANGELES — Five suspects accused of burglarizing the homes of celebrities have been indicted by a grand jury in Los Angeles.

The defendants pleaded not guilty at a brief hearing Friday.

They are accused of targeting the residences of stars such as Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom and Paris Hilton.

A prosecutor says some of the defendants now face additional charges, including conspiracy and receiving stolen property.

The group previously was charged with felony burglary by prosecutors, who later opted to present the case to a grand jury, a process that allows a case to go directly to trial and avoid a preliminary hearing.
