Jenny Thompson: Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer Attacked Near Boston

New York (GaeaTimes.com) Winner of 12 Olympic medals, Jenny Thompson was attacked by would-be robbers as they failed bid to steal her Vespa scooter in Brookline, Massachusetts on Monday night. The two thugs punched her in the face but Jenny Thompson knew how to stay tough under pressure.

The first thing they did was punch me in the face, so my gut instinct was to fight.

Jenny Thompson told WBZ-TV.

I fought them off and was screaming at the top of my lungs and people came out of the houses.

The assailants came in a vehicle outside Boston. They stopped behind Jenny Thompson with their headlights out. They proceeded to punch her in the face and pushed her down to take away her scooter. Jenny Thompson held onto her scooter and they had to flee on foot.

She suffered a cut on her nose with several other scrapes at knees and arms. She was treated at the scene by the ambulance crew.

I felt lucky there were people around who were willing to help and call the cops.

She said,

If I had been somewhere more isolated, I think it could have been a lot worse.

One of the most successful American Olympians, 37 year old Jenny Thompson, won Eight Olympic gold medals out of a total 12 Olympic Medals.

Three teenagers were arrested later that night who were riding stolen scooters. There is no information whether they were connected with this incident. According to the latest reports, a man is identified and arrested accused of the theft attempt.
