LONDONDERRY, NORTHERN IRELAND (GaeaTimes.com)- Families of the victims who had lost their lives in the Bloody Sunday incident way back in the year 1972 are waiting with bated breaths as the report of the inquiry into the events of the incident is all set to be released on Tuesday by the British government. Anticipation has been skyrocketing as the country awaits the publication of the inquiry which is known to be the longest as well as the most expensive probe in the legal history of United Kingdom.

The report which is scheduled to be published today takes into account that incident that took place in Northern Ireland’s second city on January 30, 1972 in which around 13 people lost their lives after they were shot by British soldiers during a civil rights march while a victim passed away later from the wounds that were sustained. More than two decades after the Bloody Sunday, an inquiry into the incident was initiated by the then Prime Minister Tony Blair under judge Mark Saville and two other judges. After a period of 12 years and the expenditure of 190 million pounds, the 5,000 Bloody Sunday report would be published today.

It has been reported Prime Minister David Cameroon would be making a statement with regard to the Bloody Sunday report at the House of Commons on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Meanwhile, many family members of the victims of Bloody Sunday have moved to Guildhall where they would be the first relatives of the victims to get the opportunity to go through the report. Now, whether the Bloody Sunday report is able to fulfill their expectations remains to be seen.
