Attack on US convoy in Iraq kills 2 bystanders
BAGHDAD — Police say a suicide bomber riding on a motorcycle killed two bystanders while targeting an American military convoy north of Baghdad.
Diyala police spokesman Maj. Ghalib al-Karkhi says five civilians were also injured in addition to those killed in Wednesday’s attack in Muqdadiyah.
He had no information about American casualties.
He says American troops have sealed off the area following the midday blast.
The U.S. military didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
