LUCKNOW - After failing in his attempt to sodomize the 12-year-old son of a trader, a policeman allegedly killed him in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district, an official said Monday.
Sanjay Baghel (25), a constable with the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) was arrested Monday for the gruesome killing of the 12-year-old boy.
“Baghel has confessed to his crime. He admitted that he killed his neighbour’s son by crushing his head with a rock after he failed to sodomise him,” police inspector Arvind Verma told reporters in Firozabad, some 250-km from Lucknow.
According to police, Baghel Sunday abducted the boy from a market and took him at a secluded place, where he killed the boy.
The body of the 12-year-old, a resident of the Sarai Colony, was recovered Sunday night from the fields. Later, in police investigations it was revealed that the boy was last seen with Baghel.
