Man accused of killing Yale doc to give DNA sample
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — An unemployed doctor charged with fatally shooting a Yale University physician has been ordered to give authorities a DNA sample.
New Haven Superior Court Judge Roland Fasano granted the request Tuesday by prosecutors to take the saliva sample from Lishan Wang.
The 44-year-old Wang is accused of killing Vajinder (vah-JIN’-der) Toor on April 26 outside Toor’s home in Branford. Police say he also fired at Toor’s pregnant wife but missed.
Wang hasn’t entered a plea.
Police say Wang told them he had been accused of threatening Toor and poking him in the eye when they worked together at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York.
A history of confrontations with Toor and other colleagues at Kingsbrook led to his dismissal two years ago.
