NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- The New York Police Department has arrested a man as being the prime suspect in the case of the Times Square bombing in New York. The bomb was found in a car in Times Square, and was detonated before it could explode. This is the first headway that the police have been able to make into the case, and so far, this is the first arrest. However, as they have commented, investigations are still being continued, and the man has been taken into custody for interrogation. According to the details given out by the New York Police Department, the man has been identified as Shahzad Faisal, a Pakistani-born citizen of the United States. He is 30 years of age, and hails from Connecticut.

According to the police, Shahzad Faisal has been rested as they found out that he was the owner of the Nissan Pathfinder that the bomb in Times Square was planted in. However, they yet do not know if the man has been operating alone or if he was part pf a terrorist organization. However, the police claim that they have been able to identify the motive behind the crime, as attorney general Eric Holder commented, the main motive was to ‘kill Americans.’

However, there seems to be some contention regarding the matter of the arrest of Shahzad Faisal. According to some of the sources, he had been arrested in the John F. Kennedy airport, while trying to board a Dubai-bound flight. On the other hand, some other reports state that he had arrested in Long Island.
