Mumbai News On 26/11 Sentencing

MUMBAI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The nation is waiting for the latest news on the fate of Ajmal Kasab, the sole terrorist who was caught alive at the 26/11 massacre. Today the 26/11 trial court of Mumbai will hear the arguments of both the defence and prosecution and deliver the verdict. The terrorist got convicted on Monday. A total of 86 charges were slapped against him and in almost all of these charges he was found guilty by the court. Ujjwal Nikam, the Public prosecutor will ask for severest punishment for Ajmal Kasab for his crimes against India and its residents. It is being assumed that he will ask for death by hanging for the convict. The defence lawyer, K P Pawar may ask for a lifetime imprisonment for the a convict in place of death sentence.

The latest news is that 26/11 sentence may be given by the court today. The convict maintained a stoic face on Monday when the verdict in his trial was read out in the court. The families of the victims of the 26/11 massacre want Ajmal Kasab to be hanged. They lost their near and dear ones in Mumbai owing to the ravages caused by the terrorist and his companions who died in the encounter with the cops. They are of the opinion that the convicted should be given death sentence as his crime is unforgivable.

While the residents of Mumbai and India at large want Ajmal Kasab to get death sentence his home village in Pakistan has slammed the judgment news. They feel he became a victim of the circumstances he was put into.
