Bihar deploying tourist force for visitors’ safety

The state govenrment in Bihar is deploying tourist force to provide foolproof safety to visiting tourists in the state.

Officials said these special forces will be tourist-friendly and guard the guests.

“We are deploying tourist forces soon to provide safety to the visitors”, state tourism department’s principal secretary Rashmi Verma said today.

Officials said these tourist forces will be deployed in places like Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, Nalanda, Vaishali, Kesaria and Patna which attract a large number of foreign tourists every year.

Bihar was forced to consider deploying these forces after a 25-year-old Japanese tourist was gangraped and her valuables looted in Gaya district past week.

The Japanese tourist, identified as Sachi Nomura, was on a tour to various Buddhist places when she was sexually assaulted.
