Wife shocked husband accused in Yale doc killing
ATLANTA — The wife of an unemployed Georgia doctor charged with fatally shooting a Yale University physician says she is “in shock and despair” about the killing.
Lan Ma released a statement Wednesday through an Atlanta attorney. Ma expressed her condolences to the wife and child of Vajinder Toor, who was gunned down in front of his home Monday in Branford, Conn. Ma’s husband, 44-year-old Lishan Wang, is being held on $2 million bond.
Ma says she wants to protect her children and hopes that God can help “overcome this hardship.” She and her three children live in Marietta just north of Atlanta.
Wang and Toor had worked together at a New York City hospital.
Police say documents on two other former colleagues of Wang’s were in his van, along with 1,000 rounds of ammunition.
