Court turns away Texas murder appeal
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from a Texan on death row for nearly three decades who said he did not receive a fair trial when he was convicted of murdering a teenager.
The court on Monday left in place the murder conviction of Delma Banks in the shooting death of a 16-year-old in northeast Texas. A divided federal appeals court in New Orleans upheld the conviction.
