A 25-year-old Japanese tourist was gang-raped by three persons in Bihar late Friday night, police said today.

Police said the tourist Sachi Nomura was going to Gaya railway station from Bodh Gaya, the land of Buddha, alone on an autorickshaw when driver and two other persons boarding the vehicle dragged her out and gang-raped her one by one.

Police said they have detained two persons for their alleged involvement in the crime.

The victim is a resident of Itabolutachi in Tokyo and is currently on a tour to various tourist places associated with the life of Buddha.

“We have asked the Gaya SP to submit the charge-sheet within 24 hours and complete the speedy trial in a week”, Bihar’s director general of police Neelmani said today.
