Police have arrested a youth for tearing apart the flag of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar.

The Indian tri-colour was fitted on the bonnet of CM’s car parked in the portico of Old Secretariat building.

Police said Sheikh Abdul, a disabled youth from east Champaran district in Bihar, had sought an appointment with the chief secretary on Tuesday but when he was asked to wait, he rushed to meet the chief minister holding meeting in his office.

When denied entry into the CM’s office, the youth rushed to the portico of the building and tore apart the flag fitted atop bonnet of CM’s car.

“The youth appears to be mentally challenged yet we are interrogating him”, the senior superintendent of police, Patna, Vineet Vinayak told reporters today.

Meanwhile, the state director general of police Neelmani held an emergency meeting with senior police officials today and beefed up security of the chief minister.
