Woman arrested after 2 children hurt in fall from apartment balcony in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — Las Vegas police say a 36-year-old woman faces felony neglect charges after her 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old granddaughter fell from a third-floor balcony to the ground below.

Police say Nicole Taylor was asleep and may have been intoxicated when the two toddlers went onto the apartment balcony through an open sliding glass door Wednesday afternoon.

Passers-by found the children on the ground and returned them to the apartment southwest of the Las Vegas Strip. The children were taken to University Medical Center in serious condition.

Taylor was arrested and taken to the Clark County jail, where she was being held on $20,000 bail pending a court appearance.
