Bail set at $500K in NJ child gang-rape case
TRENTON, N.J. — Bail has been set at half a million dollars for a New Jersey man accused of participating in the gang-rape of a 7-year-old girl.
Gregory Leary made his first court appearance Thursday.
The 20-year-old Leary is also accused of statutory rape and endangering the welfare of a child. Trenton police say he also had sex with the girl’s 15-year-old stepsister.
Police say the stepsister sold the child to have sex with as many as seven men and boys at a party in a vacant apartment. The stepsister has also been arrested.
Besides Leary, four others have been charged with the girl’s rape. They are ages 13, 14, 17 and 19, and were charged with aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment.
