Women charged after fight with Detroit bus driver
DETROIT — Two women have been charged after a fight with a Detroit city bus driver that another passenger caught on video.
City transportation director Lovevett Williams says the women became enraged Tuesday after the driver picked one of them up at a stop on the Eight Mile Road but closed the doors and drove off before the second could board.
Williams says the driver stopped when he realized what had happened.
The video recorded on a digital camera shows the driver exchanging words, punches and kicks with the women before the two disembarked. No injuries were reported.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy says the women are charged with misdemeanor assault and battery. Williams says the driver hasn’t been disciplined.
Detroit’s Fox affiliate WJBK-TV aired the fight video Wednesday.
