Judge returns Yale killing suspect’s car to family

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A car owned by an animal research technician charged with killing a Yale University graduate student last September is being returned to his family.

A judge granted the request for the vehicle Wednesday in New Haven Superior Court.

The Ford Mustang was seized during the investigation that led to the arrest of Raymond Clark III, who was charged with strangling 24-year-old Annie Le (LAY) of Placerville, Calif. Le’s body was found stuffed behind a research lab wall on the day she was supposed to get married.

An arrest warrant indicates the car contained a pair of white sneakers with unknown reddish stains, a blue garment similar to hospital scrubs and a dark garbage bag.

Clark’s attorney says nothing of evidentiary value was in the car. A prosecutor declined to comment.

The 24-year-old Clark has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.
