Former UK player Davender pleads guilty in scam
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. — Former University of Kentucky basketball player Ed Davender has pleaded guilty to his part in a men’s basketball season-ticket scam.
Davender pleaded guilty to one count of felony theft by deception over $500. Court records say the plea he agreed to on Friday includes a recommended two-year sentence and restitution to the victim.
The 43-year-old Davender is accused in Fleming County of taking money for two Kentucky men’s basketball season tickets but never producing them. He will be sentenced April 16.
Davender played at Kentucky from 1984-88. He pleaded guilty in January to three theft by deception counts in Harrison County and similar charges are pending in Fayette County.
