Judge: Kerrigan brother can go home if bond posted
WOBURN, Mass. — A judge has ruled that if the brother of figure skater Nancy Kerrigan posts bond, he can live in the Massachusetts house where he is accused of assaulting his father, who later died.
Mark Kerrigan is currently being held on a $10,000 bond as he undergoes a psychiatric evaluation.
Prosecutors argued in Woburn District Court on Wednesday that he not be allowed to return to the Stoneham home because his mother, who still lives there, is a witness.
Seventy-year-old Daniel Kerrigan died last month after a confrontation with his son. Prosecutors charged Mark Kerrigan with assault and have said they are deciding whether to upgrade the charge.
The Kerrigan family says Daniel Kerrigan had a pre-existing heart condition.
