Man pleads guilty in Wyoming bull rider death
CASPER, Wyo. — A Wyoming man has pleaded guilty to a federal drug conspiracy charge stemming from the death of a professional bull rider.
Court records show that Kyle L. Walla entered the guilty plea last week in U.S. District Court in Cheyenne as part of an agreement with federal prosecutors.
Walla and four others were charged with conspiring to distribute the heroin and cocaine that led to the Dec. 2 death of Bryan Guthrie. The 21-year-old Guthrie was the 2003 national junior bull riding champion.
Walla is the second defendant to make a plea deal in the case. Rhett Epler, of Cheyenne, pleaded guilty earlier.
