Casey Anthony pleads guilty to check fraud
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida mother charged with killing her toddler daughter has pleaded guilty to check fraud charges.
Casey Anthony pleaded guilty Monday to 13 counts of check fraud.
Circuit Judge Stan Strickland sentenced Anthony to time served in jail, as well as probation if she is ever released. She remains jailed on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.
Anthony has pleaded not guilty in the slaying. She says a baby sitter kidnapped Caylee, whose body was found near the Anthonys’ Orlando home after a months-long search.
Prosecutors had asked for five years in prison for the check fraud charges.
They are seeking the death penalty in Caylee’s slaying.
