Class 10 student commits suicide in Delhi

NEW DELHI - A 16-year-old Class 10 student Friday hanged himself to death from a ceiling fan at his house in south Delhi, allegedly over increasing pressure to do well in studies, police said.

Rohit’s father, a transporter, found him hanging at their home in Mahipalpur area around 4 a.m.

“No suicide note was found and the body has been sent for postmortem,” said a police officer. “His family said he was weak in studies and may have committed suicide due to demands on him to study well.”
