ISLAMABAD - Eleven school children and a van driver were killed and eight injured Wednesday when their vehicle was hit by a train at an unmanned railway crossing in Pakistan’s Punjab province, an official said.
The Jafferabad Express coming from Quetta rammed into their vehicle near Musa Virk railway crossing in Mian Channu, around 250 km from Lahore, Geo TV reported.
At least eight more school kids suffered injuries and were taken to hospital, said Aslam Bodla, Member of National Assembly from Mian Channu.
The driver failed to see the approaching train due to thick fog, he said.
